Julia Zuzanna Sokolowska is a Los Angeles based composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist whose work bridges cinematic storytelling, orchestral craftsmanship, and subtle tastes of Jazz and Latin music. She holds a degree from Berklee College of Music and has built a career working across film, television, and media in both the U.S. and internationally. Her credits include Netflix’s Filthy Rich, as well as The Book of Life, Empire, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and other narrative and documentary projects.
Julia’s music is characterized by expressive orchestration, emotional clarity, and a deep understanding of how music supports story. In addition to composing original scores, she is an experienced arranger and orchestrator, collaborating with composers, directors, and producers across genres and formats. Her background as a classically and jazz trained pianist informs her melodic voice and detailed approach to musical structure.
Beyond her creative work, Julia is a dedicated educator and advocate for inclusivity in the music industry. She is a co-founder of Illuminating Music, an organization focused on amplifying women in film scoring, and Hollywood Arrangers, a collective supporting professional development and collaboration. Through teaching, mentorship, and public speaking, she is committed to empowering the next generation of musicians.
